Give Children Their Jabs

The Daily Mail launched the Give Children Their Jabs campaign to raise awareness of the importance of vaccinations and highlight the danger of anti-vaxx scare stories.

The paper published a forensic Q&A for parents, issued a four point plan for Ministers and officials demanding a new public awareness campaign, text message alerts for parents for vaccine appointments. The campaign's stated aim was to reverse the decline in uptake of vaccinations and to reclaim Britain's "measles free" status from the World Health Organisation.

The Mail's team illustrated the policy demands with series of powerful stories of youngsters who had suffered because their parents had not sought out their jabs, and exposed false stories found online.

The Government pledged to implement a vaccine reminder alert system for parents, one of the key demands of the Mail's campaign.
