Making a Difference - National

Making a Difference highlights the power of news media titles to campaign for positive change. Earlier this week, an online vote was held to determine which local and national campaigns from the past year are the public's favourites.

The winners will be announced on Friday 9 October. Browse the local campaigns here

Britain Talks

Britain Talks, led by the Daily Mirror, set out to involve the print and digital readership of two politically polarised national newspapers and 20 regional papers in an experiment - asking readers to sign up to meet their political opposite for a cup of tea.

A staggering 4,000 people signed up to take part and the Mirror matched around 1,500 of them, following 20 pairs across the country.

The project was invited to tour Labour and TUC conference - and culminated in an event at Parliament, where Britain Talks was showcased by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Britain Post Brexit.
